Hello everyone!!! I am beyond excited to share with everyone, my hiking adventure to Rindge point Dam on Monday, to go cliff jumping!!!! It was a crazy experience...one I'll never forget! Now let me just say, normally I am a chicken...I'm afraid of bodies of water.... heights....anything you can think of that could potential kill you... I'm afraid of. However over the past few months, I have been trying to embrace my Vervefelicity lifestyle by doing things out of my comfort zone and trying to conquer my fears...and this little trip was no exception! My friends Delanie, Andrew, Michelle came along with me and the first thing we did was waste 30 mins trying to find parking.
Eventually we figured out where we were supposed to go and parked by Piuma Road (Parkings free here). Then we started our trekk to the semi-hiking trail by walking up Malibu Canyon Road until we reached mile marker 1.86 on the left hand side. Once there, we saw a tiny pathway down the cliff where we had to slowly climb down rocks and slide down dirt...all while trying to avoid the poison ivy, ticks, and snakes we had been warned about by some lovely gentlemen we met on the walk up malibu cyn. Once we were at the bottom of the 500 ft decent we had made down the side of the road, we now were trying to find the Dam. We found it but we were stuck at the top and spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to get down to the actual pool of water. Finally..after climbing up and down rusty old ladders...and swimming in who knows what infested water ...we finally figured out how to get down and had to boulder hop...cross the lid of the dam (Scariest part)...and then hike down and again slide through dirt till we reached the bottom. The water was warm...it was a beautiful day and I got to finally conquer a million different fears while having a blast with my friends! I highly reccomend coming here if your up for the challenge.

Hiking Directions to Rindge Dam:
101N exit Las Virgenes/Lost Hills and head left toward the beach. After 4.5 miles turn right into a parking lot at Piuma Rd, laugh at the parking fees (or pay them). Then walk down Malibu Canyon Road until you get to mile marker 1.86 on the left side of the road, from here you will see a very faint use trail that descends the side of the cliff. Get to the creek bed and swim across. Climb the rusty ladders and rock hop till you find your way along the left side of the dam to the bottom. Follow the rest of the path down to the water and enjoy ! =)
